NHHWF spring 2007 seminar: 14 March, Leeds Town Hall - Domestic social responsibility – encouraging proper disposal of HHW

 The NHHWF spring 2007 seminar “Domestic social responsibility – encouraging proper disposal of HHW” explored communications and enforcement issues.

The event included presentations from leading experts involved in communicating with the public on waste issues and enforcing controls on illegal disposal of waste, and was held on 14 March at Leeds Town Hall.

NHHWF summer seminar - Hazardous waste reduction and disposal: finding solutions for SMEs
6 July 2006, Said Business School, Oxford

 

This event focussed on preventing, reducing and disposing of hazardous waste generated by small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and explored:

 

  • HHW issues in the waste strategy consultation
  • the HAZRED project, an Environment Agency led project which aims to help SMEs prevent and reduce their production of hazardous wastes
  • SME case studies of hazardous waste reduction
  • Oxfordshire County Council’s chemical collection service
  • Defra research on hazardous WEEE.
